Dr. Zhong Zhang is a full professor and the director of the CAS Key Laboratory of Nanosystem and Hierarchical Fabrication at the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, China (NCNST). He obtained his PhD from the University of Science and Technology of China in 1999. From 2000 to 2006, he worked at the Institute for Composite Materials, University of Kaiserslautern, as a Humboldt research fellow and an Awardee of the Sofja Kovalevskaja Award. He was recruited by the newly established NCNST in 2005. His major research interests are hierarchically structured multi-functional polymer nanocomposites, mechanics on nanocomposites, nanostructured surfaces and coatings, nanomanufacturing and applications. He is currently the Chinese Editor of Composites Part A: Applied Science and Manufacturing. He has published more than 200 refereed papers in SCI journals, which have been cited for more than 7,000 times with an H-index 50.
